After the Alabama Crimson Tide defeated Ohio State, 52-24, for the college football title on January 11, 2021, Habitat for Humanity of Tuscaloosa announced on social media that the Hamner family will be the recipient of the 18th home funded by Nick's Kids Foundation. Ellen Potts , Habitat for Humanity of Tuscaloosa's executive director, said the family includes a mother, who works in housekeeping at the University of Alabama, and her infant daughter and a 5-year-old son.
